Joining the Server
What you need installed, how whitelisting and Discord verification work, and how to connect.
What you need
- A legitimate copy of GTA V (Steam, Epic or Rockstar)
- FiveM from fivem.net
- The Discord desktop app, installed and signed in
- A working microphone. The Baye is a voice roleplay server.
Keep Discord open
The Discord desktop app must be running before you launch FiveM. FiveM reads your Discord account from it, and without it the server cannot verify you. Discord in a web browser does not count.
Getting whitelisted
Submit your application
Fill out the whitelist application at apply.thebayeroleplay.net. Answer honestly and in your own words. Staff read every application.
Join the Discord
Join discord.gg/thebaye. Read the rules channel while you wait.
Complete verification
Follow the verification steps in the Discord. Once your application is accepted you receive the role that lets you play.
Connect
Open FiveM, search for The Baye Roleplay in the server list and connect.
The "Awaiting Verification" screen
If you load in and see a full-screen Awaiting Verification panel, the server could not find the required Discord role on your account yet. The panel tells you why:
| Message | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| You do not have the required role yet | Your application or verification isn't finished | Finish verification in Discord. The panel re-checks every few seconds and closes on its own once you have the role. |
| We could not find you in our Discord server | You haven't joined, or joined on a different account | Join with the button on the panel, using the same Discord account that is open on your PC. |
| Your Discord account is not linked to FiveM | Discord wasn't running when FiveM started | Close FiveM, open the Discord desktop app, then launch FiveM again. |
| We could not reach Discord right now | Discord is having trouble | Wait. It retries automatically. |
You can press Check again on the panel to re-check straight away.
Queue
When the server is busy you join a queue. Stay on the connecting screen and you're let in automatically when a slot opens.
