Inventory
How the inventory, hotbar, weight, stashes and giving items work.
Press F2 to open your inventory.
Slots and weight
You have 50 slots and can carry up to 85 kg. Heavy items like tools, weapons and bulk goods fill you up quickly. If you're over the limit you can't pick anything else up.
Hotbar
The first 5 slots are your hotbar. Press Tab to see it and 1 to 5 to use an item in that slot. Put your food, drink, phone and anything you use often in slots 1 to 5.
Using, moving and splitting items
- Drag an item to move it.
- Right-click an item, or drag it onto Use, to use it.
- Hold Shift while dragging to split a stack, or set an amount at the top before dragging.
- Hover an item to see details such as durability, serial number or what's written on it.
Giving items
To give an item to someone, stand close to them, open your inventory and drag the item onto Give. Make sure you're facing the right person.
Containers and storage
When you open your inventory next to something with storage, it appears beside your own:
- Vehicle glovebox and trunk. Open the trunk from the back of the car with the third eye.
- Stashes in houses, apartments and workplaces
- Drops. Anything you drop on the ground stays there for a while, and anyone can pick it up.
Dropped items aren't safe. If you don't want to lose something, store it in your vehicle or a stash, not on the floor.
Weapons
Weapons are inventory items. Put them in your hotbar to draw them, and press R to reload with the right ammo in your inventory. To legally carry a weapon you need a Weapon License. See Licences.
